TEHRAN Austrian National Council President Heinz Fischer is due in Iran next week at the head of a high-ranking parliamentary delegation, it was announced here Monday.
Fischer's four-day visit will take place at the official invitation of Majlis Speaker Mahdi Karrubi. During his stay in Tehran, the Austrian speaker will hold talks with Iranian officials on bilateral and multilateral ties.
He will also visit historical and cultural sites in Isfahan.
Fischer's visit is the first by an Austrian speaker to Iran after the 6th Majlis took office last may.
